Anniversary Gift for Wife: 25 Real Gold & Silver Ideas

Key takeaways
On 4 October 2026, 22K gold in Kolkata costs ₹14,195 per gram. With 12% making charges and 3% GST, ₹25,000 buys about 1.5 g and ₹50,000 about 3 g. Under ₹10,000, choose 925 silver or a tiny gold nose pin. Earrings are the safest pick. Gold pieces under 2 g may carry no hallmark.
The best anniversary gift for wife in India is real jewellery she'll wear every week. For most couples, that means plain 22K gold tops. At the Kolkata rate on 4 October 2026, 22K gold costs ₹14,195 per gram. So ₹25,000 buys about 1.5 g of finished jewellery, and ₹50,000 buys about 3 g.
This guide matches 25 gold, diamond and silver ideas to your exact budget. It's for husbands buying for her birthday, your anniversary, or both in the same month.
What Your Anniversary Gift for Wife Budget Buys in 2026
A ₹50,000 budget buys roughly 3 g of finished 22K gold jewellery at today's rate. That number surprises most buyers, so it helps to see how a bill is built.
Every gold bill has three parts. First comes the metal: the day's rate times the weight. Next come making charges, the labour cost, usually a percentage of the metal value.
Then GST is added. On a finished jewellery sale, GST is 3% of the gold value plus making charges. ClearTax's guide to GST on gold explains this rule.
Here's how 1.5 g of 22K tops works out at ₹14,195 per gram:
Metal value: 1.5 × ₹14,195 = ₹21,293
Making charges at 12%: ₹2,555
GST at 3%: ₹715
Total: about ₹24,563
So how much gold can you buy for ₹50,000 as a gift? About 3 g of 22K, or about 3.8 g of 18K. Rates change every day, so check today's gold rate in Kolkata first. Then put your own number into our gold price calculator.
Your budget | 22K (916) gold | 18K (750) gold | 925 silver | Diamond | Best piece types |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Under ₹10,000 | up to about 0.6 g | up to about 0.75 g | up to about 36 g | rarely fits | silver payal, silver tops, plain gold nose pin |
₹10,000–₹25,000 | about 0.6–1.5 g | about 0.75–1.9 g | about 36–90 g | small nose pin | gold tops, light ring, small pendant |
₹25,000–₹50,000 | about 1.5–3 g | about 1.9–3.8 g | more than you need | studs or a ring | jhumkas, slim chain, locket |
₹50,000–₹1 lakh | about 3–6 g | about 3.8–7.5 g | more than you need | locket or wristlet | mangalsutra, noa, necklace under 5 g |
Gram figures are estimates at the 4 October 2026 rates: ₹14,195/g (22K), ₹11,495/g (18K) and ₹223/g (925 silver). They assume 12% making on gold, 20% on silver, and 3% GST. Diamond prices depend on the stones, not the gold weight.
Lighter isn't a compromise anymore. The World Gold Council's Q2 2026 India report found high prices pushed buyers toward lighter, lower-carat and studded pieces. Our lightweight gold jewellery guide shows what that looks like on the counter.
Under ₹10,000: Silver Gifts and Tiny Gold Pieces
Under ₹10,000, 925 sterling silver gives you the most visible gift, because the full budget buys about 36 g. Real gold at this price means a piece under 0.6 g.
1. A Pair of 925 Silver Payal
A silver payal pair suits a wife who wears anklets at home or with sarees. You get real weight for the money here. Before buying, measure an anklet she already owns from end to end. For a later upgrade, see our gold anklet designs. Browse our silver anklets or read the silver payal designs and prices guide.
2. Silver Tops for Everyday Wear
Silver tops suit a wife who wants small earrings she won't worry about losing. Most pairs cost well under your budget, leaving room for a card or flowers. Check that her piercing is still open. If it has closed, read our ear-piercing and aftercare guide first. See our silver tops.
3. An Adjustable Silver Ring
If you don't know her ring size, an open-band silver ring is the safe choice. The band can be eased a little larger or smaller at home. That removes the biggest risk of gifting a ring. A thumb ring is another forgiving fit. Pick one from our silver ladies' rings.
4. A Plain Gold Nose Pin
A plain gold nose pin suits a wife who already wears one and wants a real-gold upgrade. Small pins can stay near ₹10,000 at today's rate. Check the gram weight on the tag. A piece this small will probably carry no HUID, which we explain in the checks below. Our nose pin price guide covers styles.
5. A Silver Locket With a Photo Inside
A silver locket suits a wife who likes keepsakes more than sparkle. Put your wedding photo or a child's photo inside before you wrap it. Ask us about engraving her initial on the back. See our silver lockets.
₹10,000 to ₹25,000: First Real Gold and Small Diamonds
Between ₹10,000 and ₹25,000, you're buying about 0.6–1.5 g of 22K gold or a small diamond piece. For most wives, the best jewellery gift under ₹25,000 is a pair of plain gold tops.
6. Plain 22K Gold Tops
Plain gold tops suit a wife who wears jewellery to office every day. A pair around 1–1.5 g looks neat and fits this budget. Screw-back posts stay put better than push-backs on a busy day. See gold tops, plus our guides to gold ear tops designs and 2-gram gold earrings for daily use.
7. A Diamond Nose Pin
A diamond nose pin suits a wife who already wears a nose pin and wants some sparkle without bulk. Its price comes from the diamond, not the gold. Match the fitting she uses now, screw or wire, so she can wear it straight away. Browse diamond nose pins or read our diamond nose ring buying guide.
8. A Light 18K Gold Ring
An 18K ring suits a wife who uses her hands all day, because 18K is harder than 22K. It holds its shape better against knocks. You'll get about 1.5 g within this budget. Our one-gram gold ring guide shows lighter options. See our gold ring designs for women and the ladies' ring collection.
9. A Small Gold Pendant to Start a Set
A small pendant suits a wife who already owns a gold chain. She can wear it on that chain from day one. Later, add matching earrings for the next occasion. Ideas are in our lightweight pendant guide and the new gold locket design trends.
10. Daily-Wear Gold Bali
A small gold bali suits a wife who prefers hoops to studs. Slim hoops around 1–1.5 g sit close to the ear and work with Western and Indian clothes. Choose a secure hinge she can open with one hand. For more styles, see gold earring designs for women. Browse our daily-wear gold bali designs.
₹25,000 to ₹50,000: Jhumkas, Chains and Diamond Studs
₹25,000 to ₹50,000 buys about 1.5–3 g of 22K gold, enough for jhumkas, a slim chain or diamond studs. This is where gifts start to look substantial.
11. Lightweight Gold Jhumkas
For a wife who dresses up for Pujo and family weddings, light gold jhumkas are the pick. Hollow designs of 2–3 g give a full look at this budget. They can dent if crushed, so store them in their box. Find styles in our latest jhumka designs.
12. Diamond Stud Earrings
Diamond studs suit a wife who wants one pair for work and parties alike. The price depends on the diamonds, so compare pieces of similar size. Ask what diamond details the bill will list. See our diamond earrings and the diamond earrings buying guide.
13. A Slim Gold Chain for Daily Wear
A slim gold chain is the fix for a wife who owns a pendant but nothing to hang it on. Around 2–3 g of 22K fits this budget. Very fine links tangle and snap faster, so pick a sturdier weave. Heavier options are in our gold chains under 10 g guide. Browse ladies' chains and our gold chain designs for daily wear.
14. A Gold Locket With Meaning
A gold locket suits a wife who likes a piece with a story. A Surya locket, for example, carries a sun motif. Pair it with a chain she owns to stay inside budget. Browse our gold lockets. Read about gold locket designs for women and Surya locket meanings.
15. A Diamond Ring for Your First Anniversary
A diamond ring suits a first anniversary, when she may not yet own fine diamond jewellery. Choose a slim band so she can wear it daily. Get her size right first, using the method in the checks section. Browse diamond ladies' rings.
16. An 18K Diamond Locket

₹50,000 to ₹1 Lakh: Mangalsutra, Noa and Necklaces

17. A Short Everyday Mangalsutra
A short mangalsutra suits a wife who wants something lighter than her wedding piece for office. Designs of 3–6 g sit well with both sarees and shirts. Browse our mangalsutra collection and the mangalsutra locket designs. Our 22K mangalsutra price guide and modern mangalsutra designs cover more styles.
18. A Gold Noa for Daily Wear

19. Pola or Sakha With Gold Work
Adding gold work to her pola or sakha is the gift for a wife who wears them daily. It turns pieces she already loves into an anniversary gift. Read about pola bangles, gold sakha trends and sakha badhano designs. Then browse our pola and sakha ranges.

Under 5 g, a gold necklace stays light enough for a wife who'd wear it to work. Under 5 g of 22K costs up to about ₹82,000 today. Choose a short length that sits above a blouse neckline. See small gold necklace designs and our 5-gram gold necklace price guide.
21. A Gold Ladies' Wristlet
A gold wristlet suits a wife who prefers a bracelet to bangles. A light chain style around 4–6 g fits this budget. Measure a bracelet she owns, then add a little room for comfort. Browse our ladies' wristlets.
Milestone Anniversary Gifts: 10th, 25th and 50th

22. 10th Anniversary: A Diamond Wristlet

23. 25th Anniversary: A Pair of Gold Bala
A gold bala pair suits a 25th anniversary if she'd wear gold more than silver. Silver fits the tradition, but gold bala get worn for decades. Measure a bangle she owns using our bangle size guide. Compare our gold bala guide, daily-wear gold bangles and bala collection.

Read our gold pearl sitahar designs, Bengali pearl gold necklaces and real gold vs plated sitahar. Then see our pearl sitahar range.
25. 50th Anniversary: A 5–15 Gram Gold Necklace
A 5–15 g necklace suits a 50th, often bought by grown children for a parent. Expect about ₹82,000–₹1.64 lakh for 5–10 g, and up to about ₹2.46 lakh for 15 g. A 14K necklace costs less per gram; see our 14K gold necklace guide. Splitting the cost with siblings? Our gold and silver gifts for couples has joint-gift ideas.

Birthday and Anniversary Close Together? Split One Budget
If her birthday and your anniversary fall close together, buy one matching set and give it in two parts. The birthday gift for wife comes first. The anniversary piece completes it. She gets two moments, and the pieces still go together.
Say your total budget is ₹50,000. Give 1.5 g gold tops as her birthday gift, at about ₹24,600. Then give a matching 1.5 g pendant on your anniversary, at about the same price. That keeps you near ₹49,200 at today's rate.
A second plan works if she already has a chain. Start with a 5-gram gold pendant for the bigger date. Then add small matching studs for the other. Ask us to put both pieces aside together so the designs match.
If she's planning your birthday too, send her our gold and silver birthday gift ideas for husbands.
Gold, Diamond or Silver: Which Gift Suits Her?
Choose 22K gold for plain designs she'll keep, 18K with diamonds for sparkle, and 925 silver to stretch a budget. The right anniversary gift for wife depends on what she already wears.
Should You Gift 22K or 18K Gold?
Gift 22K for plain gold pieces and 18K for anything set with stones. 22K is 91.6% gold, stamped 916. 18K is 75% gold (750), and 14K is 58.5% (585).
All three are real, hallmarked grades. BIS's mandatory hallmarking covers 14, 18, 20, 22, 23 and 24 carat gold. 18K is harder, so it holds diamonds better and resists dents. It also costs ₹2,700 less per gram today. The trade-off is lower value per gram if she exchanges it later.
Gold vs Diamond as an Anniversary Gift
Gold holds more of its value at exchange, while diamonds give more sparkle for the money. When diamond jewellery is exchanged, the stone weight is deducted from the gold value. So pick diamonds for how they look on her, not for what they'll fetch later.
Is Silver Jewellery a Good Anniversary Gift?
Silver jewellery is a good anniversary gift under ₹10,000 and a natural fit for a 25th. Look for the 925 mark. Silver tarnishes over time, so add a soft polishing cloth with the gift.
5 Checks Before You Pay for Her Jewellery
Before you pay, check the hallmark, the bill, the making charges, her size and the exchange terms. Run them on any anniversary gift for wife, whatever the budget.
Check the BIS Hallmark and HUID
A hallmarked gold piece carries three marks: the BIS logo, the purity (such as 22K916) and a six-digit HUID. HUID is a unique code for each piece. Since 1 April 2023, only HUID-marked gold can be sold. You can check any HUID in the BIS CARE app. Use its Verify HUID feature, described on BIS's consumer page.
If hallmarked jewellery tests below its marked purity, BIS rules entitle you to compensation. It's twice the purity shortfall's value, plus testing charges.
There's one catch for small gifts. Under BIS's mandatory hallmarking exemptions, articles under 2 g don't have to be hallmarked. That covers many tops, nose pins and small pendants. So for these pieces, ask the jeweller directly whether they're hallmarked anyway.
Our guides on hallmark gold vs BIS gold and checking gold purity before buying go deeper.
Get Carat and Weight Printed on the Bill
Your bill should show the carat, the gross and net weight, the day's rate, making charges and GST. For diamond pieces, it should list the stone value separately. If a line is missing, ask before you pay.
Ask How Making Charges Are Worked Out
Making charges can be a percentage of metal value or a fixed amount per gram. Ask which method applies and what the figure is. On a 1.5 g piece of 22K, each extra 5% of making adds about ₹1,100 with GST.
Find Her Ring Size Without Asking Her
The most reliable secret method is borrowing a ring she wears on the same finger. Bring it to the shop, and we'll size it in a minute.
No ring to borrow? Ask her sister or closest friend, who may know her size. Thread wrapped around her finger while she sleeps is unreliable, so avoid it. If you're still unsure, earrings beat rings every time. Our FAQ has a hand-size video too.
Know the Exchange Policy Before You Buy
At our showroom, your wife can exchange a gold or silver gift on her own. She won't need the bill or HUID. There's no time limit. We deduct stone weight, making charges and GST from the value.
Online orders follow the return rules in our FAQ. Read them before you order if you'll gift by delivery.
