Silver Bracelet for Men: Best Styles, Real Weights & Prices

Key takeaways
A men's silver bracelet in 925 sterling is 92.5% silver. A 6–10 g chain bracelet suits daily wear, while a 24–32 g kada gives more presence. Listed prices include metal, making charges and 3% GST, so the tag sits well above the silver rate. The surest purity proof is a BIS hallmark with a HUID, not a self-stamped "925".
A 925 silver bracelet for men costs ₹3,060 to ₹19,848 in our range, as listed on 4 October 2026. That covers a 4.49 g link wristlet up to a 32.03 g carved kada. 925 sterling means 92.5% silver, with copper added for strength.
For daily and office wear, start with a 6–10 g chain bracelet, which many in Kolkata call a wristlet. Pick a kada for weight and presence, or a cuff for an adjustable fit.
The tag runs above the silver rate because making charges and 3% GST sit on top of the metal. To check purity, look for a BIS hallmark with a HUID, not just a "925" stamp.
This guide is for men buying a first or second bracelet, and for sisters and wives gifting one.
Chain, Kada or Cuff: Which Style Suits Your Wrist?
Choose a chain bracelet for daily comfort, a kada for weight and presence, or a cuff for an adjustable fit. Your wrist, your work and how much you notice weight decide the rest.
What matters | Chain wristlet | Kada | Cuff |
|---|---|---|---|
How it fits | Drapes and moves with the wrist | Rigid ring that slides over the hand | Open at the back, bends to fit |
Best for | Office, daily wear, a first bracelet | Festivals, weddings, daily wear if you like heft | Wrists between standard sizes |
Weight in our range | 4.49–23 g | 24.21–32.03 g | Not in this list yet |
Main risk | Clasp wear, snagging on knitwear | Knocks against desks and laptops | Weakens if bent too often |
Sizing | Set by length; links can be removed | Inner size; hard to resize | Gap width; small adjustments |
For office wear, an 8–10 g link bracelet beats a chunky kada. It slides under a shirt cuff and doesn't clank on the desk.
On a broad wrist, a 4 g chain tends to look thin. Move up to 15 g or more, or switch to a kada.
Silver Chain Bracelet (Wristlet) Designs for Men
A silver chain bracelet for men is the most forgiving style, because its links flex with your wrist. In our silver gents wristlet collection, pieces run from 4.49 g to 23 g.
Start light for a first bracelet. The S/22/83 Silver Curve Link Gents Wristlet weighs 4.49 g. The S/22/84 Silver Twist Gents Wristlet weighs 8.17 g.
For more weight, the S/22/54 Bold Oval Link Silver Wristlet is 17.65 g.
Link Styles: Curb, Oval, Rope and Box Explained
Each link style changes how a bracelet sits, catches light and wears. Curb links are flattened, twisted ovals that lie close to the skin and rarely snag. Cuban links are a thicker, rounder curb, so they look heavier at the same width.
Figaro chains mix short and long links in a repeating pattern. Rope and twist chains spiral, which catches light but traps dirt between strands. Box chains use square links that look sharp but can kink if crushed.
Plain oval or cable links are the easiest to repair, since one broken link can be swapped out.
Which Bracelet Clasps Last Longest?
A box clasp with a side safety latch is the most secure everyday clasp on a men's bracelet. A box clasp is a tab that clicks into a slot. The latch stops it opening if the tab gets knocked.
A lobster clasp is a spring-loaded hook. It's reliable, but small ones are fiddly to close on your own wrist.
Before you buy, open and close the clasp ten times with one hand. Then check the jump ring, the small ring joining clasp to chain. It should be closed with no visible gap.
Silver Kada Designs for Men
A silver kada for men is a rigid bangle, and it's the heaviest everyday option in our range. Our silver kada collection currently runs from 24.21 g to 32.03 g.
The S/22/59 Silver Weave Kada is 24.21 g. The S/22/64 Silver Polished Kada is 29.49 g. At the top, the S/22/60 Silver Carved Kada is 32.03 g.
A Punjabi silver kada for men is usually thicker and heavier still. Browse our Punjabi kada designs if you want that look.

Plain, Carved, Textured and Openable Kadas
The finish decides how a kada ages on your wrist. Plain polished kadas show scratches fastest, but they're also the easiest to re-polish. Carved and textured kadas hide everyday scuffs inside the pattern.
An openable kada has a screw or hinge, so it never has to pass over your knuckles. That helps if your hand is wide but your wrist is slim.
Is 925 or 999 Silver Better for a Kada?
925 silver is the better choice for a kada you'll wear daily. 999 silver is 99.9% pure, which makes it soft and quick to dent.
Sterling silver adds 7.5% other metal, usually copper, for hardness. A 999 kada makes sense as a keepsake or for ritual use, not for a daily commute. Our guide to 925 vs pure silver jewellery compares the two in detail.

Silver Cuff Bracelets for an Adjustable Fit
A silver cuff bracelet for men is open at the back, so one size fits a range of wrists. You squeeze or open it slightly to fit.
Put it on by sliding the narrowest part of your wrist through the gap. Don't pull the ends wider each time.
Bend it once to fit, then leave it. Repeated bending at the same point weakens the metal until it cracks.
A cuff is the wrong pick if you play sport in it. The open ends can catch on gloves, bats and sleeves.

Three pieces come in under ₹5,000: the 4.49 g, 6.24 g and 8.17 g wristlets. A silver kada for men of around 30 grams costs ₹18,221 to ₹19,848 in our range today.
How many grams should yours weigh? For most men, 6–10 g reads as a proper bracelet without feeling heavy. Go above 15 g only if you want the weight to be noticed.
Why Does a Silver Bracelet Cost More Than the Silver Rate?
A silver bracelet costs more than the silver rate because making and 3% GST are added to the metal value.
The rate you see quoted is usually for 999 fine silver. Your bracelet is 925, so each gram holds 92.5% of that value. On our listings today, 925 metal is valued at ₹222 per gram.
Our making charge is set as a percentage of that metal value, and it varies by category and design. Across these eight pieces, it ranges from 101% to 198%.
Here's the full calculation for the 8.17 g twist wristlet:
Line | Calculation | Amount |
|---|---|---|
Metal value | 8.17 g × ₹222 | ₹1,813.74 |
Making charge | 101% of metal value | ₹1,831.88 |
Subtotal | Metal + making | ₹3,645.62 |
GST | 3% of subtotal | ₹109.37 |
Listed price | Subtotal + GST | ₹3,754.99 |
Lighter and more detailed pieces carry a bigger making share. On the 4.49 g curve link wristlet, making is 198%, so metal is about a third of the price.
That's the honest trade-off with light silver. You're mostly paying for the labour of forming, joining and finishing small links. If you'd rather put more of your money into metal, a plainer, heavier piece gives you that.
A price below the metal value is a red flag. Some listings still quote 925 silver at ₹150 per gram, well under today's metal value. Something is off with the weight, the purity or the metal itself.
How Do You Measure Your Wrist for a Bracelet or Kada?
Measure your wrist just below the wrist bone with a paper strip, then add room for movement.
Wrap a thin strip of paper around your wrist, just below the bone.
Mark where the ends meet, then lay the strip flat against a ruler.
For a chain bracelet, add 1.5–2 cm for a relaxed fit, or about 1 cm for a snug one.
For a closed kada, measure your hand instead. Tuck your thumb into your palm and measure around the widest part.
For an openable kada or a cuff, your wrist size plus about 1 cm is usually enough.
A closed kada has to clear your knuckles, which is why the hand measurement matters. Our guide on how to measure bangle size at home shows the same method with photos.
Buying as a gift? Borrow a bracelet or kada he already wears and measure that instead.
If the size still turns out wrong, we exchange gifted silver without the buyer present, with no time limit. Making charges and GST are deducted, so measuring first saves money.

How to Check if a Silver Bracelet Is Real 925
The surest proof that a silver bracelet is real 925 is a BIS hallmark with a HUID you can verify. A plain "925" stamp is not a BIS hallmark, because anyone can stamp a number.
Silver hallmarking in India is still voluntary, as it has been since 2005. Hallmarked silver has carried a HUID, a unique code for each piece, since September 2025. In June 2026, the BIS Director General said mandatory silver hallmarking would come gradually. That's from a PTI report on silver hallmarking carried by ETV Bharat.
BIS recognises seven silver grades: 800, 835, 925, 958, 970, 990 and 999. Vikaspedia's guide to hallmarking of silver explains the marks and the HUID check.
Run these checks before you pay:
Look for the BIS logo, the purity grade and the HUID on the piece.
Enter the HUID in the BIS CARE app to see the recorded purity.
Ask for a bill listing net weight, purity, making and GST as separate lines.
Work out the price per gram. Anything below the metal value needs an explanation.
Straight answer on our own range: our silver pieces don't carry a BIS hallmark or HUID yet. Each product page states the net weight and 92.5% purity instead.
That makes the bill your main record with us, so check it lists weight and purity. With any seller who doesn't hallmark silver, ask how the piece is valued if you exchange it later.
Is German Silver Real Silver?
German silver contains no silver at all. It's a copper-nickel-zinc alloy, typically 50–80% copper, 5–30% nickel and 10–35% zinc. That's according to the US General Services Administration's guide to nickel silver.
It polishes to a bright white, so it's easy to pass off as silver. A magnet won't catch it either, because nickel silver is non-magnetic. Words like "German silver" or "silver-tone" in a listing mean you aren't buying silver.
Silver-plated bracelets are base metal under a thin silver coat. Check the clasp and edges first. Yellow or pink metal showing through means the plating has worn.
Can You Wear a Silver Bracelet Every Day?
Yes, you can wear a 925 silver bracelet every day, but it will darken over time. Silver reacts with sulphur in air, sweat and some cosmetics. The result is a dark film called tarnish.
So yes, 925 silver can turn black on the wrist. It's a surface film, and it cleans off.
A green mark on your skin usually comes from copper reacting with sweat. It happens more with plated and German silver pieces. Still, a green mark alone doesn't prove a piece is fake.
Skin reactions are a separate issue. Most jewellery allergy comes from nickel and cobalt used in metal alloys, according to DermNet's page on jewellery allergy. Cheap plated pieces often have nickel in the base metal.
Sterling silver is a lower-risk choice, but no metal suits every skin. If a watch buckle has ever given you a rash, test the piece briefly first. See a dermatologist if a reaction appears.
For long life, take it off for the shower, the pool and the gym. Soap leaves a dull film, chlorine speeds up tarnish and gym bars scratch silver. Put it on after perfume and deodorant, not before.
At the office, wear it on the wrist without your watch. Metal rubbing on metal scratches both.

How to Clean a Tarnished Silver Bracelet at Home
Clean a tarnished silver bracelet with warm water, a drop of mild dish soap and a soft toothbrush.
Soak the bracelet for five minutes in warm, soapy water.
Brush gently between the links or along the kada's pattern.
Rinse, then dry it completely with a soft cloth.
Buff with a silver polishing cloth to bring back the shine.
Skip toothpaste, because it's abrasive and leaves fine scratches. Oxidised pieces are darkened on purpose in the recesses. Polish only the raised parts, or you'll strip that detail.
Trapped moisture causes fresh tarnish. Store the bracelet dry in a zip bag, away from other jewellery.
